Tsakonian Palace Guard (Late 13th century)

Lakones/Tsakones, people from Morea resettled in Constantinople by Emperor Micheal VIII. They served in Byzantine military as light-armed soldiers, fortress guards, palace guards, paramilitary police, and naval troops.
